Walthers Cornerstone 933-3081 HO Plastic Pellet Transfer Kit

The Walthers Cornerstone 933-3081 HO Scale Plastic Pellet Transfer Facility makes it easy to model a modern bulk-plastics operation. Derived from crude oil, plastics are first formed into tiny pellets that become the raw material for everything from soda bottles to model trains. Lightweight and easily moved by pneumatic systems, the pellets arrive in covered hoppers and are stored on-site in vertical tanks, with large air compressors powering the delivery pipes and control valves.

Assembled from the 933-3081 kit, this facility works well on its own at trackside as a truck reload point for local deliveries, or combined with other big industrial buildings to create a custom plastics plant. It can also stand in for other pneumatic storage and delivery systems found at bakeries, flour mills, and chemical or fertilizer plants. The 933-3081 includes four storage silos, unloading piping for two hopper cars, walkways and railings, a compressor shed, piping, and decal signs, plus molded-in cut lines for fast, easy kitbashing. It fits layouts set from the 1970s to the present, and the finished facility measures 19-5/8 x 4-1/16 x 8-1/4" (49.8 x 10.3 x 21cm).
