Walthers Cornerstone 933-3092 HO Greatland Sugar Refining Kit

The Walthers Cornerstone 933-3092 HO Scale Greatland Sugar Refining models the busy sugar mills that served railroads large and small from the 1900s to the 1980s. Day and night, a steady parade of gondolas, ancient hoppers, ore jennies, and even a stock car or two rumbled into the yards during the harvest, or campaign, hauling sugar beets to the refinery. Running around the clock, seven days a week, these mills could process hundreds of tons of beets each hour, then ship most of the refined sugar and by-products in bulk to bakeries and candy makers.

The 933-3092 kit makes it easy to model a complete operation in a small space. It includes a three-story processing plant, a boilerhouse with a tall smokestack, a warehouse, and a special track insert that simulates the beet dump where cars are unloaded. Highly detailed plastic parts and colorful sign decals complete the 933-3092.
