Walthers Cornerstone 933-3095 HO REA Transfer Building Kit

The Walthers Cornerstone 933-3095 HO Scale Railway Express Agency (REA) Transfer Building is based on a typical rail-to-truck transfer facility from the era when the REA was how America shipped packages. High-priority parcels moved in baggage cars on most major trains, and the REA also ran its own fleet of specialized cars. Handling millions of items each day required extensive facilities, so the REA built transfer buildings alongside the coach yards of major terminals to speed the movement of packages between road and rail.

Built from the 933-3095 kit, this structure has baggage-express cars spotted on one side for loading and unloading, while the other side provides docks for the REA fleet of green delivery trucks and those of larger customers. The 933-3095 recreates the look of these busy transfer points and measures 13-1/8 x 6-1/8 x 6-3/8" (32.8 x 15.5 x 15.9cm) when assembled.
