Walthers Cornerstone 933-3098 HO Valley Cement Plant Kit

The Walthers Cornerstone 933-3098 HO Scale Valley Cement Plant gives you the structures needed to add a realistic cement factory to a steam- or diesel-era layout. Modern cement is made in plants of several buildings, each handling a step in manufacturing. Raw materials arrive by rail and are kept under cover, then a conveyor moves them to the kiln building where they are mixed, fed into a rotary kiln, crushed into powder, and stored for bulk shipment by road or rail.

The 933-3098 kit includes a beefy bulk material storage building, corrugated-metal processing structures, concrete silos with an attached hopper-car loading facility, a tall smokestack, and covered conveyors. The rotary kiln connecting the processing buildings is easily motorized using the Walthers Motorizing Kit 933-1050 (sold separately) to add motion and authenticity. Valley Cement makes a great destination for ready-to-run covered hoppers and open-top aggregate hoppers, and the overall 933-3098 complex measures 40-1/2 x 23-1/4 x 11.5" (102.8 x 59 x 29.2cm).
