Walthers Cornerstone 933-3152 HO Railroad Car Float Kit

The Walthers Cornerstone 933-3152 Railroad Car Float models the big barges railroads used to move rail cars over water where bridges were too costly or impossible to build. These floating rail yards were common in harbors and on inland rivers, sometimes providing the only rail link to the main line, and because they were unpowered they relied on a railroad tug to move them from point to point.

This 933-3152 HO scale kit builds into a detailed replica with a flat deck carrying three plastic tracks, a common prototype arrangement. It is designed as a waterline model with no lower hull, so the finished float appears to sit in the water and is easy to add to new or existing scenery. As shown, the car float measures 39 x 5-1/2 x 1" 99.1 x 14 x 2.5cm. Add the Railroad Tugboat (933-3153, sold separately) to model a float underway.
