Walthers Cornerstone 933-3153 HO Railroad Tugboat Kit

Once a common sight in big city harbors, the prototype for the Walthers Cornerstone 933-3153 Railroad Tugboat was a specialized tug built with a taller pilothouse to improve visibility over the freight cars riding on a car float. Beginning in the 1920s, many railroads modernized with diesel-electric tugs, often painted in the same colorful schemes as their new diesel locomotives.

This 933-3153 kit builds into a detailed replica of the later diesel-electric design, featuring the tall pilothouse along with roof details, towing bitts, masts and other fittings. Complete instructions and decals are included. The plastic kit assembles as a waterline model with no lower hull detail, so it is easy to place in new or existing scenery and looks right at home with the Railroad Car Float (933-3152, sold separately). As shown, the tugboat measures 13 x 3-1/2 x 3-7/8" 32 x 8.7 x 9.6cm.
