From the 1880s to the 1970s, refrigerator cars carried meat and produce to market on fast freights, and railroads built icing facilities every 250 to 300 miles to service entire trains in minutes. This complete kit lets you recreate that busy operation on your N scale layout.

Item 933-3245 includes a detailed icehouse based on a prototype in Antigo, Wisconsin, plus a modular icing platform patterned after a Pacific Fruit Express design. Add-on details include an optional platform roof for shading ice in warm areas, roof vents, and 24 ice blocks. Parts are molded in color for easy assembly, and complete instructions are provided. The finished kit measures 9-7/8 x 3-3/4" (25 x 9.5cm).
