LIONEL X2454 BABY RUTH BOXCAR, PRR LOGO, 46-47
The Baby Ruth No. X2454 Box Car was produced in 1946 and 1947. It was built on an ORANGE painted body with BLACK heat-stamped lettering and a PRR railroad herald and reporting data located to the right of the car.
There is only one small hole in the chassis that is held in place by four screws and had Type 3 trucks with electronic couplers. There are steps at each of the corners that are often found broken. This is the most common car of this series. There are no variations.
The first release of this car in 1946 used overprinted No. 2458 Automobile Box Car boxes. Generally, Lionel only used these overprinted boxes when they were included in sets because dealers advised them that overprinting did not readily sell as separate sale items off of their shelves.
